Making Memories – Stitching Sugar Skulls

I’ve been fascinated by Sugar Skulls in the past, but didn’t understand their significant meaning until I saw Disney’s™ Coco last year. It’s not the first time I’ve been educated by Disney™! But, I’m a little sad that I never understood that Dia de Los Muertos (Day of the Dead) is such a beautiful, family honoring tradition. If you’d like to know more, I recommend the facts and info posted by Kathy, The Crafty Chica. She presents a lovely, thoughtful explanation for those of us outside the Mexican culture!

An Arachnid Fest – Maybe Not So Frightful?

Spiders are SO much a part of Fall in the Pacific Northwest and most of us dread their arrival. But, my friend Pat loves them so much that her guest room is decorated in arachnid delight and her signature always carries eight legs next to it. So, I thought of her when I pulled these tutorials together. Maybe not so scary after all!

Halloween Skirts – But That Butterfly, Though!

These would have all been fun for October, but I think there’s ample life beyond the tricking month for most of the designs I found. I mean, who wouldn’t want a Twirly Butterfly Skirt?!? And, don’t miss the Super Full Tulle Skirt and the amazing Princess Gown.

This post was written last year, but Coats just shared it on their Facebook page again and the projects are really great! You may find something that would be just right for your personal cooking domain or to make as a hostess gift.
