My goal is for each student to go home with inspiration and much more knowledge than they expected!
- Fearless Knit Fabric Sewing – 60 min
- Lecture/Demo: Percentage of stretch, pattern choice, using a serger or a sewing machine, techniques for success, types of knit fabrics and their uses
- Basic T-Shirts & Beyond – 60 min
- Lecture/Demo: Pattern and fabric choice, cutting, sewing and layout, successful neck finishes
- The 20 Minute T-Shirt – 4 hr
- Hands-On: Quick techniques for a tee you’ll love to wear home!
- Short-Cuts to Fashion – 60 min
- Lecture/Demo: Quick techniques and shortcut tips for today’s sewist who has limited time to sew
- Modern Kantha Stitching – 2 hr
- Hands-On: The class that always sells out! Using traditional techniques and upcycled fabrics for modern hand-stitched results. Includes the history and use of Kantha in India today.
- Artful Kimono-Inspired Jackets I – 60 min
- Lecture/Demo: Using found, upcycled fabrics from various sources, students will learn design, color and construction techniques to create their own artful, one-of-a-kind jacket. Includes styling tips.
- Artful Kimono-Inspired Jackets II – 12 – 16 hr
- Hands-On follow-up to create our own jackets together! Students will go home with a completed (or almost completed) jacket to wear and love and the inspiration to create more.
