Patriotic Projects to Sew – More Blogging, More Sewing

My Sewful Life takes many shapes, and one of them is blogging for Coats and Clark’s Sewing Secrets blog. It’s a lot of fun and you’ll see me on there about four times each month. Most of the time I compile posts from lots of skilled tutorial bloggers and June was all about Patriotic Projects.

Wait a Minute . . . isn’t it already July???

I know it’s close to the Fourth now, but hey . . .  Patriotic sewing is in style any time of the year, right?! These are super-great, wonderful, marvelous projects – so I’m sharing them with you!! And, I know you’re clever and I bet you can still make some of these before the big day. Here’s a peek at a few of the projects from my posts, take a look . . .

Sew a Handmade Patriotic Picnic

You might get a couple of these done, if you hurry. There are a few projects that are pretty red, blue and simple! I had fun thinking about picnicking and what would make it a festive, handmade occasion. Like the DIY bunting and the felt adorned starry can containers. And, save your bandanas! Cute stuff!! Six Patriotic Decor Projects to Sew

Pillows, a table runner, a truly fabulous flag banner and the cutest little prairie point stars you’ve ever seen. I mean, how can you resist making these. Several of these are quick, so yes – you might still have time! Click here for my Patriotic Decor post. (Image Sources: SariElla, Patchwork Posse and Super Mom – No Cape.)

Patriotic Dress-Ups for Your Little Ladies

So, these are Adorable! Even if you don’t stitch them up in red, white and blue, you’ll want to make them in other colors. And, that ruffle back dress that’s an upcycle? You have to make that one. Really! Get busy, you can do it. I have confidence in your “stay-up-late, let-the-housework-go, order-take-out-and-just-sew” skills!! Use your sewing superpower and make Adorable dresses! Stitch a Festive Patriotic Quilt

Okay, so you’re probably not going to get a quilt done before July 4th, but maybe for Veteran’s Day or next year’s Patriotic holidays. Or, maybe you’re quick!! This is a “six pack” of charming red, white and blue patchwork projects and I think you’ll find at least one to add to your “must make” list. Click here for my Patriotic Quilt post. There you go! May your sewing bombs burst in the air and your projects red glare give proof through the night that handmade is best!!
