Sewing Swimwear Fabric – More Blogging, More Sewing

In my Coats and Clark Sewing Secrets blogging life, the buzz is all about their new stretch thread, Eloflex. It’s a well-deserved buzz because this thread is fabulous! Since knits and swimwear have been specialties for me for years, I wrote a post for Coats with hints for sewing with swimwear fabrics. These same hints could be applied to any activewear fabric, so it’s super timely for the Summer season!

Checking stretch

The post includes how to accurately check the percentage of stretch of any knit fabric. It’s different and more reliable than you’ll see on the back of a pattern, so I really want you to have that info. Even if you don’t think you’ll ever sew swimwear, check out the post for the percentage of stretch info – and save it!

It’s a post packed full of helpful hints – check it out. We’ll talk more about swimsuit sewing right here soon, but this will get you started. Click here to read Easy Swimwear Fabric Sewing Tips on the Coats Sewing Secrets blog and dip your sewing toes confidently in!

  1. Thanks for the link. I’ve always wanted to make a swimsuit. I’m off to read your post.

    1. You’re welcome! They’re actually fun to sew and the indie swimsuit patterns are great. I hear really good things about the Patterns for Pirates suits. Hope my post helps!
